A Life Plan Community and a Continuing Care Retirement Community (also known as a CCRC) are two names for the same type of community — full-service communities that offer independent living and a continuum of higher levels of care. On Long Island, Jefferson’s Ferry was the first Life Plan Community and also the first to offer the Type A Life Care contract, considered the gold standard in senior living residency agreements.
